If you’re looking for a great laugh, check out Trapped in the Closet

We had a fine xmas celebration this year, celebrating with all of our families (we have 4 sets of grandparents). We don’t normally do the present thing, but we did get the R. Kelly Trapped in the Closet DVD from Andrea. I got a little anxious to watch it and left it in the DVD player at Brandy’s parent’s house, but we got it back the next day.

The video that was shown on MTV was actually only chapters 1 through 6, but the DVD has chapters 1 through 12, so imagine our surprise at this added value! We popped it in last night and watched the first half with anticipation to see if there were any cool features that got cut out of the radio/tv version, but it turns out that the profanity was STILL blanked out, darn! As we got to the second half we figured i would be more of the same strange coincidences, and it was, but then he starts singing about white trash women and other strange subjects. At one point he starts singing about midgets, and I just about peed myself!

So if you’re in need of a holiday pick-me-up, try picking up R. Kelly’s latest and have a good laugh.

Some software I would like to see, or write

A Jabber client for a smartphone. The initial client would simply be an IM client, but after the first iteration or so I would like to see the Google Talk IP Telephony stuff be used with your mobile.

An OWA notifier for a smartphone (see a apttern here?).

A suite of applications for different platforms that will “tell” people where you are without having to call, email, look, etc. There could be a client on your desktop, laptop, mobile, etc and the client owuld update a master server with your location and/or status via a web service. I’m not sure how to handle the location aspect from a mobile client and still be free though. I think mapping cell towers to GPS coordinates would not be a free service. I don’t actually think I’d be able to get the cell tower anyway, so it probably doesn’t matter. It would probably be a category something more like “in GPRS range” or something.

Most of this interest has been sparked by my purchase of a Audiovox SMT5600, which I love.

The ‘war’ on xmas

I’m soo tired of hearing people complain about the supposed war that is being waged against Christmas in the United States right now. I kept seeing clips from talk show hosts in outrage because of attempts to “take the Christ out of Christmas” or using “Holidays” instead of “Christmas”.

I would venture to say that Christ probably ditched Christmas on his own when it started becoming a celebration of how much shit can you buy for others and get for yourself. If Christians want to follow the religious observation so much then I’m sure they won’t mind not shopping for themselves or anyone else and just having family prayer and thanks for the holidays.

I think that the REAL reason for the ‘war’ raging against Christmas is to draw attention from other political problems that the predominant party is experiencing right now. The goal here is to polarize the constituents while ignoring the more important issues. When it comes down to it, does it really matter if people want to say “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas”? What saddens me worse than this deplorable tactic is that the left and the rest of the country is BUYING IT! Come on, sheep!

Do we as really need to convey to the rest of the world, and non-Christian Americans, that we don’t give a fuck what they’re celebrating and that Jesus is the only thing worth that matters in this borrowed holiday? Why isn’t it okay to present a tolerant view of the holiday season? Better yet, why are we buying into this stupid argument?

IMDB is using a new search method

I was trying to figure out who the guy who was that played Johnny Storm in The Fantastic Four, and I noticed that they are now using A9 to search through their archives. I should tell John Battelle about it.

PS, the guys name is Chris Evans and when I looked at what other movies the guy I found he was in Cellular and Not another Teen Movie. How could I forget the guy that had a whipped cream bikini on?
